The area of strength Cultural Heritage announces research initiation grants

With the objective of strengthening the participation of artistic fields in the area of strength Cultural Heritage at the University of Gothenburg, the area of strength Cultural Heritage hereby announces research initiation grants which are especially aimed at researchers and artists at the Faculty of Fine, Applied and Performing Arts.

The total amount of these grants for 2011 is 368,000SEK, which is to cover direct costs, and also an additional amount of 50% (OH).

Proposals for the allocation of these grants will be made by the Cultural Heritage’s working group and will be decided upon by the group of Deans after the projects have been ranked by the Board for Artistic Research and Development at the Faculty of Fine, Applied and Performing Arts.

Applications will be ranked according to three principles:

- Artistic/scientific value.
- Connection to activities within the area of strength Cultural Heritage.
- An applicant’s (presumed) capacity – as a result of this writing grant –to be able to assert him or herself when competing for external research funding.

Applications, containing the applicant’s and the Head of School’s/Head of Department’s signatures, should be sent as a PDF document to bosse.lagerkvist@conservation.gu.se by the 30th of August 2011 at the latest.

Your application should contain a project description (1-2 pages), description of future application strategy (networks, funds, track record, 1 page), your CV, and a list of the main applicant’s primary scholarly/artistic production.

Information as to how these grants have been allocated will be available by the 1st of October at the latest.
