PARSE no 5 "Management" out now

Management is usually treated as a separate domain to the field of contemporary creative practice. Through the virtues of culture but also logistically, financially, spatially, in terms of rights and freedoms people who manage and administrate are separated from those who supply the content, be they artists, musicians, performers or designers. How does such a political and social separation of the tasks of “making” and “managing” inhere to an isolationist mechanism, in which management is seen as both an oppressive and lower status form of “doing”?
