The Faculty of Fine, Applied and Performing Arts is active in a great number of different kinds of collaborative, third stream activities, not only internationally, but also in the region of Västra Götaland, in the city of Gothenburg, and within the University of Gothenburg.

The following are examples of Faculty and Department collaborative projects:

The Faculty is a full member of the European League of Institutes of the Arts (ELIA), which is a European network between higher arts education institutions. You will find more information on the ELIA network here

Cooperative efforts within Cultural Heritage, an area of strength and excellence at the University of Gothenburg, led to the coming into being of a shared Heritage Academy in 2012, with Västarvet* and Critical Heritage Studies as the most important parties.

(*Västarvet (West Heritage) is a regional organisation in the Västra Götaland region in the west of Sweden, and Sweden’s largest organisation for natural and cultural heritage).

You will find more information on the Heritage Academy here.

The City of Gothenburg and the local government-funded development company Utveckling Nordost (Development North East) actively collaborate to set up artistic programes in the north east of Gothenburg, in order to promote student recruitment and widening participation in higher education, as well as to find new places in north east Gothenburg for both access programmes and academic programmes within the arts to take place.

The Centre for Critical Heritage Studies (CCHS) and the Faculty of Fine, Applied and Performing Arts take an active part in the multi-disciplinary research platform: Critical Heritage Studies. You will find more information on the Centre for Critical Heritage Studies (CCHS) here.
